Rhonda's place in Black Hill is a very large rural property, and this wasn't one roof. Mark vacuum cleaned the gutters on the house, two sheds and the carport, cleared a blocked downpipe, and cleaned the solar panels and the solar hot water panel, which had lichen growing extensively across them.

The job at a glance

  • Customer: Rhonda

  • Location: Black Hill

  • Property: Very large rural property: house, two sheds and a carport

  • Roof type: Metal

  • Problem: Overhanging gum trees filling the gutters on the western side, one blocked downpipe, lichen on the solar panels

  • Service: Gutter vacuum cleaning on all four buildings, downpipe cleared, solar panel and solar hot water panel cleaning

  • Price: $870

  • Result: Gutters and downpipe flowing, lichen off the panels

The problem

Gum trees hang over the western side of the property, and their leaves and sticks had filled the gutters on that side. Where two roof sections meet, the debris had banked right up.

One downpipe was blocked as well. On a rural property, every gutter and downpipe on every building is a place for dry leaves to build up, and dry gum leaves sitting on a roof are bushfire fuel.

What Turbovac did

Mark vacuum cleaned the gutters on the house, both sheds and the carport, and cleared the blocked downpipe. Turbovac works from the ground wherever possible, with ladders and harness where access needs it.

The solar panels

While he was there, Mark also cleaned the solar panels. Lichen was growing extensively across them, in spots all over the glass.

The solar hot water panel got the same treatment.

What it cost

The whole job was $870, quoted up front. That covered the gutters on four buildings, the blocked downpipe, the solar panels and the solar hot water panel. A standard home's gutters start from $250.
